It’s a nation that’s close to my heart for a lot of different reasons. If you’re trying to understand the politics behind what’s happening on the ground, it’s very complicated. But what’s not complicated is that the human suffering happening is heartbreaking. Women, children, and the elderly – many weak and vulnerable people are being caught up in a war. They’re dying. It’s awful. I pray the violence stops very quickly and call all who feel the same to join me. One of my big criticisms of our State Department is that they tend to go around the world telling other countries what they

TPLF killed their fathers in cold blood but they grew up to become better leaders

ADDIS ABABA, DECEMBER 14, 2021 — Two orphans, in Gode, Somali region, narrate family loss and horror as fathers killed in cold blood by army commanders of the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) during the time they held power. Engineer Ahmed Mirad Leyli Now Mayor of Gode town: his father, a respected community elder and leader Ugas Mirad Leyli, was killed by TPLF forces in Gode town. What made this killing stand out from the thousands of others that TPLF were committing in the region was the fact that at the time of the execution, the President the region was Ugas Abdirahman Ugas Muhumed Qani. Mirad was the uncle of the President, but the President’s plea was brushed aside by lowly TPLF army commanders. It was a criminal contempt which from the very outset showed every somali what the TPLF stands for and how disrespectful it was for those it conquered and colonized.  Abdullahi Mukhtar Adan Now the Speaker of Gode City Administration: his father, Mukhtar Adan Geeddan, who was
