Daesh (ISIS) terrorists caught operating in Ethiopia



ADDIS ABABA, DECEMBER 15, 2021 — More than 10 members of the Daesh (ISIS) terrorist group operating in Delomena Woreda, West Bale Zone, Oromia Region, have been arrested, according to a report from Ethiopian Press Agency (EPA).

According to the source, 6 AK-47 were seized with 850 rounds of ammunition in a joint operation with the security forces yesterday. The sources added that the National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS) and the Oromia Regional Police Commission have coordinated the operation to arrest the weapons and terrorists.

This was not the first time that the global terrorist group attempted to infiltrate into Ethiopia. Earlier this year, on January, a group of Ethiopians linked to Daesh were captured with arms and ammunition. They were trained with Daesh ideology and they were received military. They were caught operating at the same district, Delomena, as the ones that are reported to have been caught today.

Moreover, in November last year, 14 Al Shabab and Daesh terrorists were also caught while planning to conduct terrorist attacks on Addis Ababa and the rest of Ethiopia.

Ethiopia's National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS) conducted an extensive operation to apprehend the terrorists in November last year which it said were planning to attack Ethiopia during a time a law enforcement operation was underway in the north. The NISS also stressed that these groups were caught in collaboration with Federal Police, Addis Ababa Police and security forces in Somali and Oromia regions.

Thousands Attend Funeral For Four Muslims Killed By Police In Addis Ababa

                                      ADDIS ABABA – Oromia Regional Government said in a statement today that the demolishing of illegal housing taking place in the newly formed Shaggar City does not target Mosques.
