ADDIS ABABA, JANUARY 12, 2022, — Immediately after Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) terrorists claimed they have halted their offensive, they began shelling Aballa town, Afar region, killing civilians including children and now reports are surfacing that they are committing massacres on civilian population in Raya and May-Tebri.

"The official talk is as if we were in postwar period. But as we speak now TPLF is again brutally attacking our people in Raya and Mai-Tebri. I have received reports that TPLF soldiers massacred civilians in Waja and Addis-kegn villages of Raya", said Belete Molla, Minister of Innovation and Chairman of the opposition party National Movement of Amhara (NAMA).

Brook Abegaz, another opposition figure who ran in elections independently in Wollo, said that TPLF forces have already captured northern part of Raya and Wag and he said they have already started building trenches. He also said that the Amhara region government is engaged in disarming the farmers in Wollo and warned the government to desist from this act.

There are also other reports that indicate the TPLF is assembling large force at Adirkay, Waldiba and Dedebit to invade Wolkait Tegedey and thus find a passage towards Sudan. However, according to reports, airstrikes has halted their movement and as a result forced the TPLF to plea on social media to the international community claiming that civilians have been targeted by the airstrikes.

Meanwhile, the North-West Command deputy, Major General Mulualem Admasu, said, in an interview with Ethiopian Press Agency (EPA), that his forces will not be complacent from eliminating the TPLF terrorists once and for all.

Major General Mulualem Admasu was among the Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF) Northern Command members when the TPLF launched its attack on November 03, 2020.

The Major General said that unless eliminated once and for all the TPLF will always remain a threat for Ethiopia.

"Since the TPLF terrorists will not rest until they destroy Ethiopia, we will also avoid rest", said Major General Mulualem.

"The terrorists are no longer capable of conducting an invasion but they will not hesitate from attempting. The group is weakened in terms of manpower, weapons and morale. On the contrary, Ethiopian forces are motivated more than ever. If the terrorists desist from learning from their mistakes and attempt to invade Afar or Amhara, a blazing fire will await them.", added Major General Mulualem.

ADDIS ABABA – Oromia Regional Government said in a statement today that the demolishing of illegal housing taking place in the newly formed Shaggar City does not target Mosques. This statement came amid the destruction of another Mosque at Ajamba, at the outskirt of west Addis Ababa.
