Witnesses say TPLF terrorists looting schools and forcing residents to purchase stolen items

Addis Ababa, November 05, 2021 — Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) terrorists have been looting schools during their invasion of North Wollo of Amhara region while destroying or burning stuff they could not carry to Tigray. And in some places, they were forcing residents to purchase them. They even 'sold' by force school computers and laboratory equipment, said witnesses who spoke to Ethiopian Press.

"They came to my home carrying broken computers and asked me to purchase them. But I told them I didn't know how to use a computer and they just forced me to give them the money I had in my pocket. I gave them what I had and they threw the computer and left", said Aynachew in an interview after his town, Kokit, was freed by Ethiopian forces.

One of the witnesses also said he was forced to purchase the school items such as printers after he saw another person getting executed for refusing to purchase them.

According to witnesses, who fled from TPLF occupied towns, who spoke to EthiopianCitizen, said that the group makes people purchase things it stole to frame the community as if it also participated in the looting.

However, most people are keeping the stolen items safe in their home. People like Kassa, who had an interview with Ethiopian Press, said that they are returning the equipment that the TPLF terrorists made them purchase. "These are the equipment that our children use for learning," he said.

In Kokit town of North Wollo, Amhara region, the terrorist group not only stole school materials but it also burnt student certificates and financial documents of the school.

Although the statement did identify the victims, they were later identified as Siraj Mohammed and Abubaker Elias. Addis police said only four individuals, 37 police officers as well as 15 different police backup forces were injured.                                       ADDIS ABABA – Oromia Regional Government said in a statement today that the demolishing of illegal housing taking place in the newly formed Shaggar City does not target Mosques. This statement came amid the destruction of another Mosque at Ajamba, at the outskirt of west Addis Ababa. In the statement, the regional government stated that the demolishing of illegal houses is planned to take place around 600 cities in Oromia. "Some groups are painting as if the demolishing of illegal houses targets one single religion", said Hailu Adugna, Communication Office Head, Oromia region. "When we are implementing this decision, many interest groups are disseminating information as if we are targeting one ethnicity and one religion. This is wrong.", said Hailu Adugna.
