"Samri", informal Tigrayan youth group, police and militia responsible for Mai Kadra massacre says Ethiopian Human Right Commission (EHRC)

The statement said TPLF used its 27 year old network to plot terrorist attack in Addis Ababa. However, due to the “strong preparation made since November 04, 2020, their plots were curbed” said Commander Girma Tessema, Director of Illegal Trafficking Crimes Investigation Unit. He said that with a court search warrant the culprits’ premise were searched and they were caught with several weapons and documents holding plans to incite religious and ethnic violence in the city. Germany to provide 5 million Euro to Ethiopia for humanitarian assistance in Tigray region

  Foreign Minister of Germany Heiko Maas (Picture: German Embassy Addis Ababa) Addis Ababa, November 23, 2020 – Foreign Minister of Germany Heiko Maas today issued a statement on the armed conflict and humanitarian situation in the Tigray region, Ethiopia. “Ethiopia and its neighboring countries have already had to face huge challenges this year in the form of floods, the locust invasion and COVID‑19. And now there is the armed conflict in the Tigray region, which is dividing the country, harming the people and having an impact on neighboring states. This is extremely dangerous”, said the Foreign Minister. He said the support is to respond directly to the emergency and to provide life-saving assistance. Germany will provide humanitarian assistance for Ethiopia by a further five million euro.
