ADDIS ABABA, FEBRUARY 04, 2022 — The Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) has launched yet another attack yesterday on Konnaba and Barhale Woredas of Afar Regional State, according to report from Afar Regional State Communications Office head, Ahmed Kaloyta, who spoke to DW Amharic.

The damage caused is still unknown, said Mr. Kaloyta, due to the limited network availability.

He said the TPLF had captured three Woredas and it is launching new offensives into other parts of Afar region. But he said Afar forces are defending against the invasion preventing the group from taking control of other districts.

However, there are reports of TPLF forces capturing Barhale and Konnaba Woredas which makes them the fourth and fifth districts of Afar region under the control of the terrorist forces.

Furthermore, Mohammed Hassan, Afar Regional State Disaster Prevention and Preparedness chief, during an interview with VOA Amharic, said that 290,000 civilians are displaced as a result of TPLF's attack on Aba'ala, Magale, Erebti, Barhale and Konnaba Woredas of Afar region.

"More than 40 aid trucks were unable to deliver assistance due to the blockade. And there are very few humanitarian organizations operating in these areas. The international community should denounce TPLF's invasion of Afar region and the resulting humanitarian crisis", said Mohammed Hassan.

"We are receiving reports that the people especially in Aba'ala, Magale and Erebti are in a deep hunger state and with no access to water.", said the Afar region Disaster Prevention and Preparedness head.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) said that its partners had identified in Afar 65 unaccompanied and separated children, including 27 girls, during the week of January, 2022.

TPLF terrorist group has not only blocked humanitarian assistance from entering Tigray but, with its recent expansion, it is also causing the starvation of thousands of citizens in Afar region.

Meanwhile, Ethiopia's Field Marshal Birhanu Jula, during an award ceremony held for members of Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF) stationed at Western Tigray, said that he would fight till the last drop of blood to defend the Western front from enemies of Ethiopia.

He said the Western front has become a hotbed for anti-Ethiopia forces to launch a coordinated attack. The Field Marshal, who did not comment on TPLF's offensive in the East, said the army is sufficiently prepared for the looming threat in Western corridor.

EXCLUSIVE: The Malinowski Bill Is Humanitarian Imperialism At Its Most Malicious

America’s humanitarian imperialism has always been malicious, but ESPDA stands apart from everything other than NATO’s War on Libya as being among its cruelest form. By Andrew Korybko —  American political analyst The “ Ethiopia Stabilization, Peace, and Democracy Act ” (ESPDA), popularly known as the “Malinowski Bill” after one of the congressmen who introduced it, doesn’t support either stabilization, peace, or democracy. Rather, it’s the most malicious form of humanitarian imperialism short of a Libyan-like all-out war. ESPDA has mostly been reported to concern sanctions against individuals who the US determines to have either imported “restricted” military equipment, impeded the flow of humanitarian assistance, and/or have been involved in “genocide”, “war crimes”, and “crimes against humanity”. There are several other provisions though that haven’t received all that much attention but definitely deserve to be more widely discussed. The first to touch upon concerns the U

EXCLUSIVE: Dr. Tedros’ Misconduct Defiles The WHO & Disrespects His Compatriots

This objective observation alone should be enough to relinquish him of his duties. The longer that he remains in his role, the worse that the WHO and its UN parent organization’s reputation will become. By Andrew Korybko —  American political analyst Ethiopia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs filed an official objection to the misconduct practiced by World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. They drew attention to how he’s consistently abused his high office to meddle in his homeland’s internal and foreign affairs. He’s also accused of continuing to remain a member of the terrorist-designated TPLF that’s responsible for bringing untold suffering upon millions of people in northern Ethiopia as a result of the war that it started in early November 2020. Furthermore, the objection details other examples of Dr. Tedros’ misconduct. For instance, he’s accused of inflating the emergency level in Ethiopia in order to warrant a humanitarian interven

EXCLUSIVE: Why Is The US Politicizing Ethiopia’s Reported Drone Capabilities?

America is concerned that it’s lost its prior monopoly on drone technology due to recent Turkish, Chinese, and Emirati advancements in this industry, all three of whom US-led Western Mainstream Media reports have claimed are supplying the ENDF.  By Andrew Korybko —  American political analyst All states have the sovereign right to ensure their national security interests, especially in the domestic dimension, through whichever means they deem necessary so long as their moves are responsible and don’t contribute to regional instability. Ethiopia is no different, which is why it’s concerning that the US has suddenly decided to politicize its reported drone capabilities. Reuters exclusively reported that Horn of Africa envoy Jeffrey Feltman discussed the issue of suspected Turkish drone sales to Ethiopia during his latest trip to that West Asian country. According to the outlet, American officials have “profound humanitarian concerns” about Ethiopian-Turkish military cooperati
