600 civilians massacred in Kobo by TPLF terrorists

ADDIS ABABA, DECEMBER 27, 2021 — The Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) terrorists, during their occupation of Amhara, have killed over 600 people in Kobo, a town in Amhara region, 200 km south of Mekelle.

What is worse is that 89 innocent civilians were killed in one day and buried in a mass grave. The family of the deceased were not even allowed to follow the sacred burial rites that their religion obligates.

The TPLF faced its most fierce resistance from Raya patriots and militias on September 08, 2021, and many of its fighters were killed. And as a retaliation, the terrorists returned on September 09 with heavy weapon and large number of fighters and massacred 89 Amhara farmers, women and the elderly in a singe day. Witnesses say, however, this number does not include those whose whereabouts is still unknown.

"There was guns blazing around our block. It was 5am in the morning. They entered our house and took four men who were our relatives. I told them they were just farmers but they were angry. Later, one of the farmers came back with bullet wound on his arm. In the morning, I went to look for my relatives who were taken. I found four people slain on the street among them were my relatives. I was about to cry but they came and threatened to kill me if I did. I begged them to kill me. But they pushed me away", said Workey Gubsa, a resident in Kobo town.

One woman named Guzguz Ejigu also said that she was unable to properly bury her two brothers. When she received the opportunity after a continuous negotiation, she buried them without even washing them.

There was no one man to dig the holes for burial and the bodies were just piled on top of each other.

Molla Nigussie, who is a father of four, lost all of his children. He was only able to bury his three children. Although he found four bodies, three of whom were his children, he was unable to identify the fourth.

Although the statement did identify the victims, they were later identified as Siraj Mohammed and Abubaker Elias. Addis police said only four individuals, 37 police officers as well as 15 different police backup forces were injured. Many expected better years when the Oromia Regional government decided to establish the Shaggar City with a promise of ensuring equal growth and

Another Mosque Demolished in Ethiopia as Regional Government Denies Targeting Mosques

ADDIS ABABA – Oromia Regional Government said in a statement today that the demolishing of illegal housing taking place in the newly formed Shaggar City does not target Mosques. This statement came amid the destruction of another Mosque at Ajamba, at the outskirt of west Addis Ababa. In the statement, the regional government stated that the demolishing of illegal houses is planned to take place around 600 cities in Oromia. "Some groups are painting as if the demolishing of illegal houses targets one single religion", said Hailu Adugna, Communication Office Head, Oromia region. "When we are implementing this decision, many interest groups are disseminating information as if we are targeting one ethnicity and one religion. This is wrong.", said Hailu Adugna.
